Jana B. here,
It’s official. ‘House of Cards‘ fans that have been enjoying the first 2 seasons on Netflix have reason to cheer. Netflix confirmed that they have officially picked up a third season of the wildly successful straight-to-Netflix drama. ”Our intent is that the show keep going for sure. It was a 26-episode commitment. It was not our intent that it just run for two seasons”, Netflix’s Ted Sarandos said during the announcement.
‘House of Cards‘ has become their signature series for Netflix like ‘Mad Men‘ has been for AMC, ‘Sex And The City‘ was for HBO, and ‘Duck Dynasty’ has been for A&E. The development of original programming for the streaming and DVD giant created new inroads for creators and producers. Netflix followed the success and acceptance that began with ‘House of Cards’ with’Hemlock Grove‘ and my person favorite, ‘Orange is the New Black‘. Good news for the latter 2 series mentioned is they have both been renewed and we will be seeing a second season of each on Netflix soon! ‘Arrested Development’ may or may not come to Netflix with either more episodes, or a movie based on the lovably ridiculous Bluth family. We will let you know once the negotiations are over and they have an announcement. To add to their stable of original programming they have committed to four series and a miniseries from comic-giant, Marvel.
